Editor's note: This Sunday feature aims to give special recognition to a letter (under 300 words) that stands out for impact, style or in another intriguing way.
I am part of the airport ground crew in Eugene, Ore., that handled the National Airlines 757 charter plane carrying your MSU Bears. After a three-hour flight packed with young football players, we expected the inside of the plane to be a disaster. On the contrary, the inside of the airplane was astonishingly clean. We couldn't believe it!When the players arrived at the airport, they were all handed something to eat while they waited to queue up for the TSA screening process. Once they were aboard the airplane, I went outside the screening area anticipating wrappers, empty boxes and other trash to be picked up. To our amazement, again, boxes were neatly stacked up next to the trash can. We could not believe that 50 plus athletes were there half an hour ago eating a meal.
Your Bears may have been overmatched at Autzen Stadium, but the team's respect for property and basic etiquette has set the bar at a level that undoubtedly will never be matched here in Eugene. Great job parents and great job to Coach Allen and his staff!
